Moji — Share how you feel
Moji is designed to be simple and private. Here's how your data is handled.
Moji stores only what's needed to share emoji statuses with your friends:
Moji uses Apple's CloudKit to store and sync your data. This means your information is held in Apple's iCloud infrastructure under their security and privacy standards. Moji does not operate its own servers or databases.
Your data is associated with a short code — not your name or Apple ID — so it is not directly personally identifiable to other users.
Moji uses your iCloud account to work — there's no separate sign-up, email, or password. If you're signed into iCloud on your device, Moji just works.
Moji collects minimal, anonymous analytics to understand how the app is used. This includes events like app installs and feature usage. No personal information, device identifiers, or browsing behavior is tracked. Screen views and lifecycle events are not recorded.
Moji requests camera access solely to scan QR codes for adding friends. The camera is never used for any other purpose, and no images or video are stored.
Moji may send push notifications to let you know when a friend updates their status or reacts to yours. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Moji does not share your data with advertisers or sell it to third parties.
Status history is automatically deleted after 30 days. If you'd like to delete your data entirely, you can remove your iCloud data through your device's iCloud settings, or contact us for assistance.
Moji does not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided data through the app, please contact us so we can remove it.
If this policy is updated, the changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
